Job Summary

The role of a Commercial Plumber is to handle various plumbing and hygiene-related tasks at client sites across the North West, and sometimes in other parts of the UK. This job is not based remotely – you will be working on-site only.

You will need to carry out work such as cleaning, testing water systems, checking temperatures, fixing pipes, and doing risk assessments. Some of the clients you work with may need you to help control legionella bacteria, which is harmful if it spreads through water systems.

What Kind of Work Will You Do?

• Remedial Plumbing – Fixing and repairing pipes, taps, and other plumbing issues.

• Water Testing and Sampling – Taking water samples to check if it is safe and clean.

• Cleaning Water Tanks (CWST) – Cleaning cold water storage tanks to avoid contamination.

• Disinfection of Showerheads – Making sure showerheads are cleaned to stop the growth of bacteria.

• Fitting TMVs – Installing Thermostatic Mixing Valves, which help control water temperature.

• Calorifier Disinfections – Cleaning and disinfecting water heaters to prevent bacteria.

• Temperature Checks – Measuring water temperature to keep it within safe levels.

• Legionella Risk Assessments – Checking if water systems are at risk of spreading the bacteria that causes Legionnaires’ disease.

These tasks will require careful attention to detail, good hygiene practices, and following health and safety rules.
